t MONTHLY MEETING Th« monthly meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club, held yesterday, was attended by Messrs A. C. Hanlon (chair), Hazlett, Smith, Irwin, Goughian, i Mathewson, Garrett, and Dr Batchelor. , .. ■■ . , . . The Secretary submitted a statement showing that the Winter Meeting had resulted in a small profit. .It was resolved that the stakes t ter classic races should be the same aslast yea ,._viz., M'Lcan Stakes £2OO, Champagne Stakes £2OO, and Dunedin Guineas £250. . A complaint was received from menu bets of the annoyance caused by cob lectors on the club’s property, ami it was resolved that in future collectors would not be allowed on any portion Of the racecourse property. It was resolved to hold the annua! meeting on -July 26, and special committee meeting on June 2i. A letter wan received from the Canterbury Jockey Club regretting that it was unable to hold its Mul-suinmer Meeting on February 23, and suggesting that the meeting be held on February 9.—ft was resolved that this arrangement would suit the Dunedin Jockey Club, which would race on the dates applied tor—viz., February 14 and February 16. One new member was elected.
