ENTERTAINING MUSICAL COMEDY

JIMMY DUNN IN * TAKE A CHANCE' James Dunn, Lilian Roth, and June Knight are the principal players in the new musical film, ‘ Take a Chance,’ which comes to the Empire Theatre on Friday. 'The story concerns four carnival entertainers who win fame and fortune on Broadway after many hectic adventures, which carry them through a multitude of laughs for tho audience. There are sis songs featured m ‘ Take a Chance,' two of which promise to be outstanding “ hits.” These are ‘ I’m a Night OwP and ‘ It’s Only a Paper Moon,’ Bright music, beautiful ballet girls, spectacular dance sequences, and original comedy are features of this production. Opening at a small town carnival, the picture follows the careers of the four irrepressible youngsters safely through the villainies of a crooked gambler and a jealous actress, and ends with a double romance between Dunn and Lilian tyoth and Charles (“ Buddy Rogers and June Knight. Robert Gleckler, as the gambler who plots the ruin of Juno Knight;- and Lilian Bond, as the actress who wants to force Rogers to marry her, provide both thrills and laughter throughout the story, A strong story full of thrills, laughter, and nonsense are carefully blended into a picture that is reported to be a pleasure to sit through, not once, but several times.
