TUBERCULOSIS MORTALITY
THE FIGHT IN BRITAIN REMARKABLE SUCCESS (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph— Copyright. RUGBY, Juno 9. The report of the Council of the National Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis shows that within the twenty years since the national scheme based on. the recommendations of the Departmental Committee on Tuberculosis has been in operation the mortality in England from all forms of tuberculosis has fallen approximately 41 per cent. In Scotland the decline in mortality has been above 50 per cent. The death rate from tuberculosis in 1932 was the lowest ever recorded, and shows a substantial reduction over that of 1931-
The report states that the facts justify the expectation that, with a wider and fuller realisation of the purpose of the national tuberculosis scheme, the final triumph is assured.
