GOOD TEMPLARY

The weekly meeting night of the Rescue Lodge,' No. 105, took the form of an open night at the Oddfellows Hall, King Edward street, Kensington. The programme opened with the lodge concert party rendering an opening chorus, following which the chairman (Bro. W. A. lies) welcomed those present, and . explained the object of the order and its aims. The items given during the evening were the result of an effort put forward by the sisters, who were assisted by the following:—Recitations, Sister Mrs Death; steel guitar selections, Mr C. Laurie; duets, Sisters E. Brooks and E. Duncan, Sisters M. and R. Coates; solo, Bro. E. J. lies. Two playettes (‘ Hope Never Dies ’ and ‘ Tibby’s Busy Day ’) were performed with credit by the party. Several rousing choruses were also rendered by the members. The audience showed its appreciation of the items by carrying the vote of thanks by acclamation, and the singing of the closing ode brought a pleasant “ open night ”. to a close. _ The Hope of Caversham Lodge, No. 128. held its weekly meeting on Thursday last, when Bro. Se' e. the C.T.. presided over a fair attendance of members and visitors from the Hope of Dunedin. Sister Leisliman had charge of a programme of Scotch items, the following contributingMr Lawrie, Sister Leckie, Sister Mrs Leckie, Sister Steadman, jun.. Sister Pauli, and Bro. Hilton. Supper was handed round, after which games were played.
