MUSIC TEACHERS
Mr C. A. Martin presided at a meeting ot the executive, which was attended by Misses E. Yorston, B. Fa veil, M. Martin. Messrs A. W. Lilly, M. Schereki J. T. Leech, J. O. Easton,. V. E, Galway. H. Riddle secretary). Correspondence was received iroin the general secretary regarding action necessary to change the name of the society, to the Music, Teachers’ Association of New Zealand, Otago Branch. It was decided to accede to the request from the Dunedin Competitions Society to select rriuSic for the 1935 festival. The eleventh annual conference ol dominion musicians will he __ held at Christchurch in January, 1935. It is suggested that concerts similar to those given in Dunedin during the conference last year be held during the sitting of conference. These concerts are a unique opoprtunity of hearing musicians from all parts of the dominion, and it is hoped that as many musicians as possible will arrange their vacation, so that they will be able to attend. A letter was received from Mr Frederick Moore, who is back in England sifter his visit last year, when acting ns examiner for the Royal' Academy Air Moore expressed great pleasure in having beevi able tp return to his old home town, and said he hoped to return in a year or so for a longer stay. Further details were arranged in connection with tlip evening to he devoted to the performance of works by composers at present resident in the Otago district to he given in aboiit three pi on tbs’ time.
