Hodgkins is represented by a largo water colour with Jake and island in foreground, snowy mountains in the distance, also Mount Barnslaw and Valley of the Dart which is a beautiful piece of work. He has also two small sketches. E. A. Chapman has a large water colour of ‘ The Terraces ’ showing faithfully what they were before the eruption. This is a striking example. W. J. The old lady sitting at the window darning is a very fine piece of work by F. Flo!. Two old steel engravings 1 The Last Sleep of Argyll ’ and ‘ The Last Scene in the Life of Montrose ’ are fine copies, and worth inspecting.
