LARNACH CASTLE FOR SALE Much public interest was taken in tha auction sale of Larnach Castle at Messrs Park, Reynolds Ltd. to-ddy, there being a large attendance, but not a single offer was made for the property. Prom his rostrum Mr E. C. Reynolds welcomed the crowd of about 100,. and expressed the hope that they were all buyers. But after ho had described the property in detail and explained the conditions of sale there was silence* and he intimated before leaving the box that the place was open for private negotiation. Situated six miles from Dunedin oil a prominent point of Otago Peninsula* Larnach Castle, which was built in 1871* is said to have cost £100,000.1 It wa* purchased some years ago by Mr ; .T,Jackson Purdie, the present owner.
