THE KING’S JUBILEE
INVITATION TO PRIME MINISTER MR FORBES HAS NO COMMENT TO MAKE .[Pee United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 11. A recent cable stating that the Prime Ministers of the dominions had accepted the King’s invitation to the jubilee celebrations next year was referred to the Prime Minister, who said he had no comment to, make at the present juncture. Any statement would have to come in the first place from the British Government. Mr Ramsay MacDonald would probably make a statement in the House of Commons.^ In view of the General Election towards the end of next year the Government will no doubt be anxious to call Parliament together at its normal time in June, and complete the sessional programe without delay. Assuming that Mr Forbes found it possible to leave England in the last week in May 'he would still be able to reach New Zealand in time for the normal opening of the session late in June.
