Brews led most of the way in the first round, and ended 1 up, though both had a round of ■ 71. Padgham drew square at the twenty-second; and led for the first time in the match at the twentyfourth. Brews again squared at the thirty-second, and the next four were halved) Padgham,.'who was the longer driver, player better seconds, but Brews was superior around or on. the greens.
