Generally the matches were more evenly contested than previously. Both Miller and Mollison again won all their eight games each ..gainst Y.M.D. Y.M.l>. ( is a much improved team as compared with last year. St. Patrick’s 1., alter its-win over St. Andrew Street 1. the previous week, was expected to boat Aotea fairly easily. The Aotea team is to he congratulated on its stubborn fight. The match Railway versus Lands and Survey was very exciting from beginning to end—more especially in the final games. The games were even at 13 all, but Railway won the next two games, making the score 15-13 in favour of Railway. There were two matches left to play, Stewart v. M‘Noe and Dunnage v. Guy, the former match being the next. Stewart won the first game, 21-19, but even here the match was not decided, for the Lands were leading on points, and had M‘Non won his remaining game the score would have been 16-16, and Lands would have win on points. Although the second game Was a real duel Stew-

art again, won, 21-19, thus settling the question of the winners. Guy won both his games against Dunnage. *ln the A grade, St. Patrick’s and Y.M.D. have to each play their match against St. Kilda—the new entry into the competition, taking the place of United.
