LAST CHANCE FH YOUNG MAN [Pm United Passs Association.l AUCKLAND, June 11. . “ It is to be understood that the law is being stretched in your case,” said Mr Justice Ostler to-day when sentencing Alan Charles Barker for theft of £383 from his uncle, who employed him on a farm. Barker took the money, which it was hidden. The judge said the uncle had asked that prisoner be given probation, and had said he was willing to take him back. ' This would be prisoner’s last chance. He would be admitted to two years’ probation. Alan Ernest Howie (twenty-four) was in bank notes, from a stable where tive detention for cattle-stealing in North Auckland. Mr Justice Ostler said cattle-stealing was difficult to detect, and it was extremely rife in North Auckland. 1 ■
