PROTESTANT ALLIANCE

The Triumph Lodge, No. 9, held its fortnightly meeting in the lodge hall, King Edward street, Kensington, when |W.M. Bro. James Weir presided and ,was supported by I.P.M. Bro, Geo. Hellyer and Chaplain Bro. Barr, P.M. .The lodge was adjourned to allow the Social Committee to - carry otit itk'programme. A large number of friends yvere then admitted and a social dance was held. The lodge band supplied the music the ladies provided the supper. The Pride of. the Valley Ladies’ No. 1 Lodge held its fortnightly meeting in the Orange Hall. The Wor. Mistress,. Sister Morgan, presided, and was supported: hy a full staff of officers and a good attendance of members and visitors. Two candidates were initiated, the ceremony being conducted by the W.M. and her officers. The W. Master, Bro. Turner, with his officers and several members of Valley True Blue No. 11, paid their first official visit and were given a hearty welcome by the W.M.,’ Sister Morgan, on behalf of her lodge.: The W.G.M., Bro. J. Harvey, and his executive officers ■ were also admitted;: The W.G;M., who had returned from a conference of: the society in Sydney, gave an interesting account of the.proceedings of the Federal Grand Council: of the society, of •: the great progres* made during the past two years in membership. The funds of the society.: were in : a flourishing condition, and the future was exceedingly bright. W.M. Bro. Turner returned thanks for the welcome extended to his members.

The/Hope of'the Valley Girls’ Juvenile Lodge held its fortnightly meeting in the lodge room. Sister Harvey, W.M., presided, and was assisted by a full staff of officers and an excellent attendance of members. Two candidates were initiated and two proposed. The ceremony was conducted by the W. Mistress with the assistance of her offi-. cers. The superintendents, Sisters Morgan and Currie, congratulated the W.M. and her officers on the able manner in Which they had carried out . the initiation ceremony. .Superintendent Bro. J. Sutherland and Bro. Drysidale, with the Juvenile Boys’ Valley/True

Blue, were welcomed by W.M. Sister Harvey, also Superintendent P.M. Bro. Perrin, No. 1 Triumph Juveniles. Com'petition games were held, Sister Bosward being the winner. There was a good attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of Valley True Blue, held in the Orange Hall, W.M. Bro. Turner presiding. It was decided to visit Loyal Excelsior on its next lodge- night to challenge for the euchre shield. An official visit to Triumph No._ 9 will also take place next meeting night. An enjoyable social followed. Songs were given by Mrs Searle, Bros. Jackson and Moss, and a violin solo by Mr Kay. The accompaniments were played by Sisters Barton and Henderson.' Bro. M.
