AMBASSADORS’ DANCE
The dances run by the South Dunedin Unemployed Association in the South Dunedin Town Hall on Monday and Tuesday last were completely successful The Triumph Band supplied the musio on Monday, but the committee was forced to engage another band for Tuesday. The services of the Pioneer Band were obtained, but the band was not at full strength, for which the committee wishes to apologise. However, patrons are assured of a good night and a full band next Tuesday. ihe winners of the “ sudden death ” Monte Carlo on Monday night were Mrs Herring and Mr O’Malley, and the lucky door numbers wer A won by Mr Honeybore and Miss Churchill. Mrs Baker and Mr Honeybone won the cash prize for the extended Monte # Carlo, Miss Bayerta the fancy dress prize, and Miss Seaman the best poster costume. On Tuesday the first heat of the Otago waltzing championship was held, the winners being Mrs Belcher and Mr Riaoh, Miss Favell and Mr Thompson, and Mr and Mrs Stratton. The second heat will be held on Tuesday next.
