ABSENCE OF U.S.A. TIPS Owing to the absence of DX tips from U.S.A. it is difficult to give any definite information regarding American reception at present. However, listeners should keep a look out on Sundays until 7 p.m. for CKMO (1,410 k.c.) and until 6 p.m. for KTUL (1,400 k.c.), KSTP (1.460 k.c.), XEW (890 and 910 k.c.), and KENT (1,120 k.c.). XEW operates two stations on the respective frequencies shown. KFAC (1,300 k.c.) and KGDM (1,100 k.c.) arc on all night. The latter can be heard after 7LA has closed down. AUSTRALIANS IN DAYLIGHT. Australian stations can Ire heard in daylight in good localities. From 4 p.m. onwards some of the stronger ones are audible, and at 7.30 on most mornings a few of the B class stations are good. 2UE, 2UW, 2GB, and one or two others are to bo heard. TIME TO HEAR VK’s . VK’s continue from midnight on most nights until about 3or 4 a.m. This is rather an awkward hour for most listeners, but anyone twisting the dial at this Lime will be surprised at what can. be heard. On Wednesday and Friday mornings VK3FY ■ can be heard on approximately 1,350 k.c., and on Monday mornings 3HK (1,360 k.c.), 4PK (1,380 k.c.), 4PW (1,210 k.c.), 3RG (1,150 k.c.), SAM (1,173 k.c.), and 2BQ (1,250 k.c.) can usually he picked up. On Sunday mornings 3RG, 4PK, SLR (1,330 k.c.), and 3RI (1,280 k.c.) arc among tho best. SOUTH AMERICAN STATIONS. In certain localities a few South American stations may be heard between 3 and 4.30 p.m. on Sundays. LR3 (950 k.c.) is the best. LRS (830 k.c.) has been listened to, and also others on 670, 850, and 890 k.c. FREQUENCY CHANGES, The following now frequencies have been allotted : , KTRH, Houston, Texas (630 k.c.). WESG, Elmira, New York (680 k.c.). WTIC, Hartford, Conn. (1,040 k.c.). KTHS, Hot Springs, Ark. (1,060 t c.") • * WEVD, New York, New York (1,260 k.c.). WNEL, San Juan, P.R. (1,290 k.c.).
