In the semi-finals of the Leeds professional golf tournament Brews defeated Bond, 3 and 2. and Padgham defeated Toore, 3 and 2. Padgham at one period looked like being beaten by Toore. The diminutive Spaniard was two up at the eighth, but Padgham applied the pleasure and won at the sixteenth,' after winning four consecutive holes. ' Brews, a Ihirty-iive-year-old Londoner and a son of the former professional at Blackheath, went to South Africa and won the open championship of South Africa six times. In view of his consistency at the present meeting it is believed that he holds a sporting chance in the British open championship.
