A third-rate theatrical company was giving a performance of a pantomime in which a large number of supers were engaged, .the audience was scanty, but noisily unfriendly. One of the adors at last came down to the footlights and, addressing them, said; “Von had better be careful! There are more of ns than there are of you.’’ Young Lover: “1. hope your father won’t object (.o my suit,” Sweet Girl: “Why should lie? He wears one just a,s bad.”.
