SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS NEARLY COMPLETED AloH of tlio matches in Ihe Soulli Island lawn tennis championships were brought to a conclusion yesterday, and as Saturday was largely wasted owing to the rain the officials are to be congratulated on the way they got matches off. Angas Frequently mameuvred ADDougali out of position, and then sent down a side-lino shot which, beat him. His accuracy was almost uncanny, and lie kept APDougaU on tinrun. Angas endeavoured lo come up to the net on every possible occasion, but by means of high lobs ADDougali drove him back. The final of the men’s doubles championship was a. keen contest between Angas and Boddy and Bray and Wilkinson. The latter pair started off well, but their opponents’ forceful tactics boat (hem.
