DIED DRUM INJURIES. William Murray, aged thirty, a native of Scotland, employed as a farm hand at Te Kawa, was knocked down by a car driven by D. G. McGinn, ol Auckland, last night, and died in the Waikato Hospital later.—Press Association. FALL DOWN STAIRS. As a result of falling down some stairs a single man named Robert Olsen, thirty years oi age, _ residing at 12 Jones street wa admitted to tho hospital at 8.25 last evening suffering from head injuries. At noon to-day he was still unconscious, his condition being very serious. GUNSHOT WOUND. Suffering from a gunshot wound just over the fiver, Doughn Henry, a boy nine years of age, was admitted to the hospital at 2.50 p.rn. yesterday. The boy resides with his parents at Puraka’nui. His woun-1 is not serious, and it is expected that ho will be about in a few days The injury was accidentally receivedSHOOTING MISHAP. Ernest Fuller, aged sixteen years, residing ii. Cavell street, Tuinni, was admitted the hospital at 6 p.m. yesterday with a rifle bullet in his ankle. He had been shooting at Waitati, and was walking ahead of another boy, whoso rifle accidentally discharged, the bullet lodging in Fuller’s ankle. DUE TO POISON. At tho inquest at Wellington concerning tho death of Frederick S. Richard, an agent, aged forty-two, who was found dead in a hotel on Good Friday, the Coroner (Mr Barton) found that death was ’no to poison, self administered.—Pi ess Association. BODY FOUND MUTILATED. The remains of a body, identified as that of J. M. Clarke, of New Lynn, was discovered under the Avondale viaduct by the driver of an incoming city train early this morning. A return ticket to Newmarket was found in the man’s pocket. It is surmised that be was walking along the line last night, and was shockingly mutilated by a passing train.—Auckland Press Association telegram. THROWN AND KILLED. A youth, Edward Archibald Millstead, son of H. R. Millstcad, a farmer, of Awakino road, was found dead on the main Dargavillo-Whangarci road, just on the borough boundary, this morning. The youth lelt his lather s farm at 3 yesterday afternoon, riding a horse and leading another, to milk cows at Wharau. Tho lather went to Wharan this morning in tlio service bus and noticed two horses grazing on the roadside. On arrival at the farm ho found that tho cows hud not been milked, and immediately returned to where the horses were grazing. Tie found, his son's dead body in a ditch near the roadside. The hoy had evidently been thrown off the horse through tho saddle girths breaking, and his body had lain out all night. It is strange that tho body was not found till to-day, as some hundreds of ears must have passed it between the time of the accident .and the time it was found by the latber. At tlio inquest to-day the doctor gave evidence that deceased died of a broken neck, and a verdict was returned accordingly. —Press Association. PAUL FROM CAR. Charles Martin, aged sixty, of Sutherland road, Wellington, a member of a Newtown howling rink visiting Blenheim for the Easter howling tournament, fell off n. motor car when returning from Blenheim green to his hotel for luncheon yesterday, and. sustained head injuries which resulted in his death at Wai'rau Hospital last night. Deceased was very well known and popular in Blenheim, being a frequent visitor. Ho loaves a widow ami _ lour grown-up children. No inquest is necessary, the facts being plain, and tlio accident observed by a number of people. The body will ho shipped to Wellington.—Press Association.
