VALLEY WINS RINKS COMPETITION PAIRS TO WEST HARBOUR The annual howling tournament conducted by the Dunedin Centre was concluded yesterday afternoon under idea/ weather conditions Excellent progress was made in the rinks and pairs competitions, which were brought to finality a day earlier than was anticipated. A great deal of interest was manifested in the finals of both competitions. North-east Valley met Caversham in the rinks, the former team running out the winners by 19 points to 15 after a. keenly-contested game. West Harbour accounted lor Dunedin in the pairs, winning an eventful match by 28 points to 20. Concluding results; — RINKS COMPETITION. POST-SECTION PLAY. Semi-final. —Strang 17, C. Crawford, A- Young. H. Telford, and E. Ealconer (Otago) 10; Thomson IS, Pastier 9. Final.—Strang 19, Thomson 15; Falconer 20, Fustier 16 for third place. PAIRS COMPEJITION. POST-SECTION PLAY. First Round.—Veitch. 20 heat Steel 13. Second Hound—Veitch 21 beat Carswell 10. Semi-final.—J. Voitch .11 beat C. Anderson 8; W. Anderson 13 beat M’Fadden 11. Final.—Veitch 28 beat Anderson 20.
