JO-NIGHT’S NEW ZEALAND PROGRAMMES

Further holiday-time programmes from all stations to-night. IYA is presenting excerpts from ‘ Chu Chin Chow.’ Mr Eric Waters (pianist) will contribute a novelty item of his own composition entitled ‘ Tear the Door Down.’ Numbers by the Auckland Trio will include a selection from ‘ Veronique,’ by Messager. Mr Claude Moss, Mrs Elspeth Davey, and “ The Optimist ” will be the artists for 2YA’s programme. Mr Moss’s baritone voice will bo heard in Loin ’s rousing song, ‘ Nelson's Gone a Sailing ’ and m one of Kipling’s songs, ‘ Route Marching.’ “ The Optimist,” a gentleman who for professional reasons does not wish to disclose his identity, will give two interesting humorous items. From 9.30 onwards a special dance programme of selected records will be presented. 3VA has a light and entertaining programme for this evening. There will be soprano solos by Miss Mabel Fgglcsomo and popular jazz songs by ifiss Alma Finnerty. Mr Robert Robson, a line baritone, _ will make his first appearance in radio work. Other artists will he Mr Bracey Wilson (in Harrv Lauder numbers), _ and Air George Titcbener, humorist. There will also be Mr Les. Croft, a novelty entertainer on musical instruments of all kinds and sizes. The St. Kilda Band is giving a concert at IVA. According to the advov -Used programme, the band items wil! include the marches ‘ Black Dike ’ (Greenwood! and ‘Fx Animo (Douglas), the waltz ‘Silver Lining (Norman), and the selection ‘ Welsh Beauties ’ (Greenwood). There will also bo a cornet solo. In the early part of the evening Pastor W. ]). More wil l speak on ‘ Angora Babbits.’ Singers and elocutionists along with a number of gramophone records will complete the which will terminate about 1U o'clock.
