Arising out of the executive's report upon tlie subject of unemployment, Air J. Roberts moved, and Mr It. .Semple seconded—“ That this conference regrets the failure of the (tovermnent to redeem its promises to find work Tor the unemployed and to pay the. minimum rate of Ms per day, and demands llm immediate provision ot employment for the abnormal number of men now unemployed, and, further, Unit legislation should he introduced early in next session enacting contributory unemployment insurance and the other recommendations unanimously agreed upon by the national industrial conference.” This was discussed at length in the afternoon and evening, and was carried.
