OTAGO RIFLE MEETING
RIFLEMAN PORTER WINS CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY AFTERNOON RESULTS The Easter meeting of the Otago Rifle Association was continued on the Pclichet Ba\\rangc on Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately heavy rain set in after lunch for the commencement of the South Canterbury Match (ten shots at 000yds), and the shooting was held up until the weather cleared slightly. Rifleman F. Porter (Ashburton), who was leading for the championship, shot in the first round, and by scoring 49 mado secure the honour for himself. Rifleman Porter has been a regular atiender at the Otago meeting for a number of years, and his win was popular with all the competitors. Although the weather continued showery the shooting at GUOyds was the best seen on the range for quite a number of years. Rifleman PorteFs score card- read: 5,4, 5,5, 5,8, u, 5,5, 5—49, Rifleman AV. Bradshaw, also 111. was second in the match, and his card read: 5, 5. 5, o, 5, o, o, 5, A. I—l 9. Rifleman I*. Fennessy’s score of 48 was a brilliant shoot for a tyro, and gave him third place in the match.
