The weather was gloriously fmo for the first day of the Wairarapa races, which were held at Tauhercmkau. Tiie course was in good order, and there was a verv large attendance. Ibe totalisator handled £23,309, as against £17.437 last year. Concluding results:— Wairarapa Nursery Handicap, 200sovs 5f.—3 Ex Dono (A. Fratus) 1 10 Ben Hur 2, 7 Emotion 3. Lady Beim, Pat’s Boy, and Aggressive were scratched. Won by half a length; length. Time, Imin 59 4-osec Mackie, riding Hunting Boy, foil at the post and hurt his arm.
