SPORTS AT WAIKOUAITI
COLD WEATHER AND HEAVY TRACK WELL-CONDUCTED MEETING The weather was cold and showery for tho second annual sports meeting of the Waikouaiti A.A. Club on Satinday, but there was a splendid attendance, and the meeting was excellently conducted. The Dunedin Pipe Band was present. The children who danced wore presented with a proficiency medal by Air P. APCarthy, president, of the club, who, with the secretary and assistant secretary. Messrs J. Toovney and J. Brown, was indefatigable in his efforts to make everything go pleasantly and smoothly. In this he was very ably assisted by Messrs K. L. Macassey, the chairman of the Otago Centre, and Messrs Thomson and Bows. During the afternoon a very interesting demonstration of vaulting with the pole was given by Messrs B. 0. Johnson and B. Provo, Amongst those present must have been some good judges of the weight of sheep, as in the guessing competition no fewer than five tied as to the weight, and divided the prize money, amounting to -o,s.
