DUNEDIN RETURNS Several decreases are noticeable in the Customs returns for March. There is a decrease of about £I,OOO in Customs duties and a little over .£I,OOO in beer duties, bub the, petrol tax shows a substantial increase over the figures for March of last year. For the year ended on Thursday a decrease of, roughly, £41,000 is shown in the Customs duties, but the figures for beer duty show an increase of about £2,000 over the previous twelve months. Beer duty shows an increase for the financial year of £3,400. The tyre tax for the past year was £15,296 17s, compared with £6,814 last year.
