A WEEKLY TALK
Hollo, everybody! The poet competition was not as easy as some have been, but there were a good many entries. David Weir, 92 Playfair street, Caversham, won the prize. The correct answers were: Browning, Burns, Longfellow, Bracken, Dryden, Shelley, Eox, Tennyson, Scott, Milton, Wordsworth, Stevenson, Goldsmith, Shakespeare, Coleridge. The picnic essay competition has been, adjudicated at last. Colin Wheeler, 15 Arawa street, Anderson's Bay, wins the first prise, and Loma Thorn, 9 Bangor terrace, Kew, takes second. They were both chatty little essays, and were neatly written. They deserved their victory, because all the essays sent in were of good quality. Thanks to everyone- who entered. Do you know why everybody has Easter eggs at this time of the year? Because it is Easter. That is one answer, of course. The other one is because the egg is a symbol of life, and at this time of the year we think of happy and joyous life that goes on without shadow for evjr and ever. Brother Bill says this so that he may say another thing. May every member of' his great family, old and young, know the triumphant life that never comes to an end, and may the days that come and go so swiftly bring them joy without shadow, and happiness without sorrow or pain. Your always affectionate, BIG BROTHER BILL.
