SELJE FOUNDERS

COLLISION WITH UNION STEAMER CREW SAFELY TRANSHIPPED Eresa Association—By Telegraph—Coayriglii. MELBOURNE, March 30. (Received March 30, at 10.30 a.m.) The Norwegian steamer Seljc, of 6,000 tons, foundered about 120 miles west of Port Phillip Hoads last night, after collision with the Kaituna. The latter vessel rescued the crew of the Scljo. The Ivaituna’s bows were damaged, and she wirelessed for assistance to enable her to reach port. The Seljc carried a cargo of wheat valued at £7,500. A wireless message received at Melbourne from the Selje indicated that the vessel was in difficulties. The message was obviously incomplete. The Kaituna is a steamer of 2,0-12 gross tons, and was on her way Irom Hobart to Bluff, thence Dunedin. She is owned by the Union Steam Ship Company.
