Tin? mooting of 111© Ilcscuc Lodge, No. 105, International Order of Good Templars, was held on Tuesday in the Oddfellows’ Hall, King Edward street. Bro. W. A. lies, Chief Templar, presided, and three candidates were initiated. Tiro. Dickenson, D.C.T., reported that a meeting had been he Idin Morningtoii with a view to opening a lodge in that district. It was decided to abandon the proposal to hold a picnic. Members subscribed to a collection in aid of the flood relief fund, the sum of iff 12s being collected as a first instalment to the fund. A committee was appointed to arrange for an entertainment to raise funds in aid of the relief fund. The programme arranged, by Bro. Geo. Dougal was enjoyed by all. The Star of the South Juvenile Temple met the same evening, when there was a good attendance. Bro. J, Hilton, S.JAV., was in charge. Members provided an interesting programme. Snails dig themselves into the ground in winter and remain torpid, cementing * up the opeuim to their shells.
