ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
OLD BOYS' ANNUAL MEETING The twentieth annual meeting of the Otago High School Old Boys’ Association Football Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening, the president, Mr J. A. Hey, occupying the chair. The meeting was fairly well attended by members. A vote'of sympathy was passed with the relatives of Mr S. Heal, second grade goalkeeper, who had died as a result of an accident. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Messrs M. (J. M.'lnnes, R. Allan, J. A. Bacc, D. MTvcnzie, and L. Johnston. ANNUAL RETORT, The annual report stated that the club wished to thank the members who had assisted in the affairs of the club by handing in their subscriptions early and allowing a number of outstanding accounts to be settled. Jbo cjub s thanks were also due to Mr J. Morrell (the rector) for the use ot the school gymnasium, and to other supporters."’ At the commencement of last year the club had been in debt to the extent of about £lO, but all aconnts had been wiped off and they were to start the ensiling season with a lair balance (about £10). However, members were urged to pay their subscriptions as soon as possible to keep the affairs of the club running smoothly. The teams entered in the competitions last year had not met with a great deal of success, hut they hoped lor a successlul season in 1929. theie was a possibility of an Australian eleven visiting Now Zealand, and members should’look forward to a bright season. The Chairman moved the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, and in so doing congratulated the Maori Hill Club on winning the FRicher Cup, also winners of other trophies. Some now members bad entered the Old Roys’ Club, and he thought that they would probably win something tins year. 'Hie balance-sheet, had taken a turn in Ibe right direction, which was very gratifying. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, the seconder being Mr G. B. Teaks OFFICE-REARERh.
