C. Emerson will rid r ' Gay Sonnet in the Groat Easter Hamlican. She is handicapped at 7.9, so she will have to carry a few pounds ovenvei'glit, bub this may not be a groat disadvantage. Great Star has come into Great Easter discussions lately. He is a speedy hack, hut lie will find the opposition in this race a bit ahead of what he has been accustomed to. Ciraabue has an increasing iiumhei of admirers for the Great Easter Handicap. He has been racing well tins season, and should show up prominently in Monday’s seven furlongs’ contest. A. G. Murray has been engaged to vido Seatown in the Great Easter and Great Autumn Handicaps. Hovlake has not done much last ga - lopiuk lately, hut ho has "ot through a- lotTof solid work. _ He him been a source of great anxiety to T. Lloyd, who has the imported horse looking m good health, but he may not he able to see out a solidly-run mile and a-half. [Tic Shannon, of Wellington, was a visitor to Riccartou to-day endeavouring to purchase the three-year-old Chide, presumably on behalt of an Australian client, hut his owner, Mr G. Murray-Avtisky, declined to pub a price on him. Chide was under otter in the same quarter early m the year, hut the ahauco of buying him was passed by on that occasion, and Jus owner has decided now that he viil keep Chide and continue to race him in his own colours.
