FOUND HANGING. Kenneth Hoy Jamieson, aged Lwentyeigbt, residing with his Hither on his homestead at J’akuranga, was found hanging from a rafter in a shed at 9.30 hist night. The son had evidently been dead for several hours. He was last seen alive at 7 o’clock yesterday morning.—Auckland Press Association telegram. BENZINE IGNITES—CAR OWNER BADLY BURNED. Early last evening a youth was filling a car from a 45-gallon drum of benzine through a hose at the back of a residence in Gladstone road, Gisborne. An acetylene lamp which he used to look into the car tank ignited the petrol fnraer, and in a few minutes the car was a mass of llames. In attempting to turn off the tap fh© owner of the car, Mt G Randall, was splashed with benzine, which caught fire, and ho was removed unconscious to the hospital. where he is reported to bo in a serious condition. The brigade was called out, and soon after its arrival the benzine tank exploded, causing consternation among the crowd One motorist, who was in a hurry to leave the scene, reversed his car and knocked down a small boy, whose injuries arc believed to be serious.—Press Association. BODY RECOVERED. The bodv of Robert Duff, a schoolboy who had been missing since Thur'n'v, was found yesterday afternoon in the Makarewa River. It is surmised that he fell into the river when attempting to cross in the cable chair.— Invercargill message. A BROKEN NECK. A Jlambilton Association message states tnat a fatal accident occurred at Huntly West yesterday. The victim, Timi Awa, aged thirteen years, was driving cattle when his horse threw him. He was picked up unconscious, and died shortly after the doctor arrived. His neck was apparently broken.
