ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
MOTOR CYCLING FATALITY. David Morgan, a labourer employed by John Dewar, mill-owner in the Kakanui district, was riding his motor cycle along the Goodwood road yesterday afternoon when his machine struck a pothole and threw him off. Buffering from head injuries, he was seen after the accident by Dr Howdeu, who ordered his removal to the Dunedin Hospital. He died this morning. An inquest will be held. JOCKEY HURT. Charles Wasley, a jockey, was riding Queen’s Ferry on the Victoria Park track last evening, when the horse stumbled, throwing its rider on his head. He was taken to GreymonUi Hospital with concussion, and had a. bad night. His condition this morning is unchanged. The horse is still lying where it fell. There are hopes of saving it.—Press Association.
