NORTH-EAST HARBOUR CLUB The North-east Harbour Boating Club held a series of races on Saturday afternoon Tho weather was not favourable for the yachts, the wind being very light fron the north-east. In tho All-comers’ Yacht Race tho boats were sent away to a splendid start. On the lead to Company’s Bay fair progress was nuuh by the boats with the assistance of the outgoing tide. Viking rounded first, and then came Agnes, Colleen, Harlequin, Betty, and Pupuke. The run to the buoy off Mitchell’s was very slow, the wind being very light, and it remained so for tho rest of tho race. The resit was:— Harlequin (lOmin 30scc), Hi 31 min ilsec. .. 1 Agnes (4min oOsec), Hi 32min ... 2 Viking (scr). Imin 3oscc 3 Three boats started in the All-comers’ Outboard Motor Boat Bate. Firefly and Baby June, had a' very close race. Jade retired from the race owing to engine trouble The result was;— Firefly I Baby Juno 2 The All-comers’ Motor Boat Race drew five starters The course was from a line off the club house to a moored flagged dinghy off Dublin Bay, and thence to the buoy off Mitchell’s. The finishing positions were: — Sylvia 1 Marati, t Elto t Joy 4 Tui retired owing to engine trouble. The race was handicapped under the Rocket system, which proved very satisfactory. The Elliott Cup Race for local yachts 12ft Gin anr under was postponed owing to the wind falling away. The race will be sailed at a later date.
