The- Hon. T. K, Sidey left Dunedin by the J 1.31 train to-day tor Wellington, where he will attend a meeting of the executive of the New Zealand University Council. He expects to be hack in a. lew days. The Hon. J. A. lianan was also a passenger by the same train for the same meeting. Sir Thomas Mackenzie went off this morning for a visit to Waihcmo. Sir L. Doans Ritchie arrived from Wellington by the night train that reached Dunedin at 6.5 this morning. Mr J. A. Roberts and Mr Crosby Morris were passengers for Wellington by the 11.34 train to-day. Mr J. T. Richards, of Napier, arrived by the express to-day, and is staying at the City Hotel. The Auckland, Canterbury, and Otago nominees have been returned unopposed as members of the Music Teachers’ Registration Board. These are;—Messrs H. B. Coney and S. K. Phillips (Auckland), A. J. Merton and S. Williamson (Canterbury), and Dr V, E. Galway and Mr C. Gray (Otago). The death has occurred at Hunterville of Mr John Chisholm, in his ninety-ninth year. Mr Chisholm was burn "in Scotland. With his wile and young family he came to New Zealand ■and settled at Gloncairn, near Marten. Latei' he took up land near Hunterville, and farmed it with success, until he-re-tired a lew years ago. Mrs Chisholm died many years ago. The guest list at the Grand Hotel includes Miss R. D. Colbeek (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs D. Standage (Timaru), Mr J. R. Wilson (Tawanui), Mr and Mrs Edgar Shand (Kokonga). Captain and Mrs HuyshcEliot (Roxburgh). The latest arrivals at Hie Excelsior Hotel include Mr and Mrs A. MacGillycnddy (Glasgow), Mr J. Harris (Auckland), Messrs C. Qnane and A. D. Sandman (Christchurch), Mr and Mrs Wylie, Mr and Mrs J. W. Nicolls (Oamaru).
