Storm waters from tho watershed east of the town quickly formed into a raging torrent several chains v.ide in plaeess Dozens of bouses wore flooded to a depth of Oft, and fences and outbuildings carried away. All tho public services were disrupted. The storm was tho worst m the history of the town.
