FAREWELL TO FRANK O’BRIAN Scones of unprecedented enthusiasm, marked the farewell performance of Frank O’Briau and his Revellers at the Princess Theatre on Saturday evening. That this company is one of the most popular bands of entertainers on the Fuller circuit is beyond a shadow of doubt. Few companies ever had such a, tumultuous reception on the occasion of their final performance in Dunedin. The programme was a “request” one, made up.of numbers that had caught the public fancy during the season, and cadi was warmly applauded. ih« initial appearances of Frank_ O’Brian and Janice Hart were the signal for an outburst of enthusiasm, and each was called upon to make a speech. Ou behalf of the company, Mr O’Brian expressed his deep appreciation of the manner in which the shows had been, received and of the hospitality extended to them during their stay in Dunedin. He spoke of their happy associations with the theatregoers, and said that, it would indeed bo a welcome command to be ordered to return to Dunedin. The company then proceeded to cover the audience' with streamers, and these were returned with a will. Alter the speeches the performers were deluged with presents, and the audience then joined in singing ‘Auld Lang Syne with great warmth. Mr O’Brian shook hands'with many hundreds of people, and the cheering continued until everyone had reluctantly filed out of the theatre.
