The monthly meeting of the Y.W.C.A. hoard of directors was presided over by Mrs Taverner. Recommendations from special committees were received and discussed. _ As an outcome of the study of Christianity in industry which is lining followed this year, it was arranged to hold a health and industrial exhibition from duly 1 to o. It is hoped that other welfare organisations will co-operate, ami the exhibition be of interest and value to the public generally. In connection with the sann,: industrial programme, the monthly board meetings will be preceded by short devotional studies on 'Christ and .Industry,’ conducted by the Rev. Canon Button. Hoard members were, also urged to join the W. It. A. class on industrial problems, which is being heal at tho Y.W.C.A. at 2.80 on Friday afternoons. It was decided to commence a club of mothers and others ('specially interested in the girls’ activities of the Y.W.C.A. 'I he inaugural meeting has been arranged for Thursday, April 4. it has_ been felt for some time that the association rooms should he open for the use ol girls on Sunday evenings, and the oiler of assistance from members-ol the senior clubs lias now made this possible. 'The rooms will lie open Irom 2.80 p.m. till 9 o’clock every Sunday, and it is hoped that any girls who find their Sundays lonely will avail themselves of the ■welcome and companionship which they will hud there. As funds arc urgently needed for the running expenses of the Y.W.C.A. a jumble sale has been arranged for Friday, April T‘J, and all contributions will he welcome.
