BOYS' DIVISION A demonstration concert under ilie auspices ol tiio hoys’ division oi the Y..M.C.A. was held in the gymnasium on Satiirdav evening bed ore a largo audience. The lengthy programme ol various activities revealed Ihe splendid health-giving recreation participated m by the hoys. A basket ball match betweeiu. the team which will represent Dunedin Y.M C.A. against Christchuich, and a picked band of players was a good example of how the game should be played. Team relays by the Thursday night primary hoys, boxing in sacks' bv Fred Grimmun and Leith Gladwin, sack racing by the employed boys, rope climbing by ibe Technical School members, basket ball in sacks featuring the O.H.HS. and employed enthusiasts; volley hall between numbskulls versus thickheads, and country dancing by a party of girls were all included in” the programme. Special mention must be made of the lads wlm displayed their prowess on the “ horse.” Changing rapidly from _ rolling and tumbling to the more serious and ditHoult stunts on the apparatus, and culminating with a thrilling dive through an electrically lighted hoop, these hoys were outstanding. The employed buys on ilie parallel bars gave a very clean exhibition of their work, while recitals Hy Miss Britton, Messrs J. G. Hannah. S. Guthrie. XT. Davidson, and Miss Feichley added to the success of die evening. During the interval a chamnionship ping-pong match between D. Robertson and J, Austin held the interest of the audience. Mrs W. T WiLon made a most efficient accompanist. The following is the representative team to compete in the annual association competitions at Christchurch ;—R. Lucas, R. Guthrie. A. Bell, A. Tunas L. Goughian, .1 Hannah, C. Cmighlan, K. Beatson, W. Lake and D Peters.
