The majority of the New Zealand horses were treated to gentle exercise. Work was done- on the grass track, flags 40ft out. Limerick led' Paquito over three furlongs in 38sec. Crown Area and Moorgas, on the bit. ran five furlongs in Imin lOsec. Honour boat Agrion over five furlongs in Imin 4sec. Tuki sprinted three furlongs in 42sec. Gesto ran three furlongs in 4Usec, Winalot two in 26seo, Greeenlino and Gilt Edge seven in Imin 2Tjsec, Mollisou seven in Imin 36sec, Ivilloni six in Imin and Mondiago eleven in 2min 33tsoc.
