A benefit concert in aid of the loca! unemployed will he given in the Fanpi re Theatre tomorrow evening at S o’clock hy the St. Hilda, Band,assisted hy several local artists. 11n* theatre, has been lent free of charge by Air Pitt, and ('has. Bcgg and _ Co.have consented to supply a grand piano for the occasion. Tho following programme will bo presented :—Hymn,- ‘ Nearer, My (tod, to Thee,’ St. Hilda, Band, concert march, ‘Twentieth Century,’ St. Hilda Band; solo, ‘ln the Carden of .My Heart.,’ -Miss Pita,' Holmes: cornel, duet, ‘ Ida and Dot. ■ Messrs G. Christie and J. Logan: test; selection. ‘ .Lorenzo,’ St. Hilda. Band ; solo, ‘ Melisandc in the Wood,’ Miss .Mary Pratt: instrumental trio. ‘Flying Dutchman,’ Misses K. Whelan (pianist). J. Drumin (vilMinist). and H. Drumin ("cellist) ; recitation, ‘ Captain Oates ' (story of Scott expedition), Miss Anita W’inkcl; solo, ‘ .Somewhere.’ Mr Lcs. Dailey; concert march, “ 8.8. and C.l'V’ St. Hilda, Band. The hand will he under tho baton of Conductor .1. Dixon.
A collection will be taken s<t the floor by ihe Otago Labour Council lor the roller of loo.'il unemployed. Frogrammes will also bo on sale at tlnj theatre.
