Greenline, Remora, Habashon, and Violian made the running, and Greenline remained in front to win by a short head, with a neck between second aand third. Time, Imin 12sec. Pace Welter, SDOsovs. Im.—Bollinger 9.13, 1; Lady Clara S.5 t 2; Hustler 8.7, 3. started. The New Zealand horse Boston was sixth. Time, linin 291 sec. Denham Handicap, SOOsovs. 11m. — Joybird (N.Z.) 7.7, 1; Headlight 8.3, 2 Ulenjoy 7.13, 3. Thirteen started. Won by a head, a neck separating second and third. Time, Imin 44sec. Joybird’s victory was like a bolt from the blue, a 4 it yyas so unexpected.
