SHOOTING INCIDENT
RESULT OF QUARREL BETWEEN FAMILIES MAH CRITICALLY INJURED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, December JO. A shooting affray occurred last night in New street, Surrey Hills, as the result of which Frederick Blaekridgc, a labourer, was critically Mounded, while Essie Blaekridgc, his wife, received wounds in the arm and shoulder, but they arc not serious. John Aunesley, a middle-aged man, was arrested and charged with attempted murder. 'Hie police understand that a dispute between the families preceded the shooting. Blaekridgc and his wile, with Blaekridgc’,s brother, went to the Now street house and kicked the door, which eventually fiew open, and a man inside appeared"with a shotgun. He immediately tired, nearly the whole of tho charge entering Frederick Blackridge’s chest, his wife receiving some pellets. The injured man was removed to hospital, but lie refused to give much information to the police, who later went to tlie New street house and were confronted with a shotgun, but luckily tiic man did not lire. The police then made tlie arrest without resistance.
