SUMMER CUP TO PEGAWAY Ruin marred the second day of the Auckland Racing Club’s Meeting. The track was very heavy. The attendance was greatlv reduced, and there was a hie drop In the totalisator returns, winch were £44,311. compared with £72,331 last vear. Talisker led early and was showing out four lengths from Royal Boulton. The field closed up at the back, and Pegaway led into the straight, going on to win by a length from Bright Glow, who beat Talisker by two lengths. Cashier was fourth.
