BROAD BAY REGATTA
The thirty-fifth annual regatta wdl be held at Broad Bay on New Year s Day when followers of all forms or aquatic sports will be well catered for. The first race is timed to start at 10.40 a.m., and from then till alter 5 p.m. races will be in progress. Intending visitors may proceed to Broad Bay by bus or ferry steamer, and an excellent day’s outing is assured. The outstanding feature of the regatta will undoubtedly be the outboard championship of Otago, for which event nine entries have been received, including Mr G. Lamb’s High Jinks, from Canterbury, which will race against the local boats. Another popular event will be the allcomers’ handicap ior cruising motor boats, for which twenty entries have been received. The usual swimming and rowing events aro also featured.
