HEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS [Pur United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, December 29. The New Zealand championships wore resumed at about 10.30 this morning in dull muggy weather. The courts were very heavy as tho result of yesterday’s downpour; Results MEN’S SINGLES. —Second Bound. — P. H. Jones (Maori), beat Carter (Auckland-) 6-0, 6-0, 0-0; Sturt (Auckland) beat Morrison (Auckland), G-2, 7-5, 6-2. Heavy rollers were necessary to prepare the courts, and sawdust was freclv sprinkled on the base lines, which were very greasy. Some of the contestants played with spiked running shoes.
