SUNDAY SERVICES
At First Church Dr Merrington will conduct the closing services of his pastorate. The subject of tho sermon in the morning will bo ‘ An Ancient Beriediclion.’ and at night, ‘The God Keigntth.' Dr V. E., Galway will begin his organ prelude at 6.15 p.m. Mr Allan Gardiner, the director of youth work, will bo the preacher at both services in Knox Church. Mr Roy Spackmaa, the organist, will give a short recital at tha close of the evening service. The Eev. Albert Mead, M.A., will corn duct the services at Moray place Congregational Church, the subjects of his addresses being on ‘Man’s Extremities’ and ‘ The Faithfulness of God.’ Services appropriate for tho close or the year will bo held in Trinity Methodist Church, Stuart street, the Rev. H. E. Bollhouse being the preacher, taking for his morning subject ‘The Abundant Tomorrow,’ and in tho evening ‘The God Who Is Our Rearward.” Rev. W. Walker will conduct New Year services in the Central Mission, Octagon Hail, The evening service (which is to be broadcasted) will bo specially musical. Solos will be rendered by Mrs E. Cameras (of Wellington), Miss Rita Holmes, and Mr M'.Naughton. Two organ solos will bo given by Mr C. A. Martin. At St. Kilda Methodist Church, Rev. A, G. I -awry will preach morning and evening. Ju the evening Mr G. Kirk will sing the solo ‘Day by Day’ (Lamarque). Rev. W. B. Scott will conduct both services at Wesley Church, Cargill road, SoutJi. Dunedin. The morning subject wll ba ‘ The Distant Scene,’ and at 6.30 o’clock Mr Scott will, in the course of his sermon, deal .with the discouragements of life and the way in which they may bo met. The Roy. C. Maitland Eiliss will conduct both services at the United Congregational Church, his subjects being ‘ Life’s Double Ministry’ and ‘This Year Also.’ Rev. B. S. TuckwelTs topics at Hanover Street Baptist Church will bo * The Changeless God. ’ in the. morning, and ‘Bo Of Good Cheer ’ in the evening. Cayer.sham Baptist Church the Re". H. E. Edridge will be the preacher, and the topics will bo in keeping with the closing of another year. At the Dunedin Spiritualist Church,; Trades Hall, Moray place, in the evening, Mr W. E. Reynolds will give an address on ‘Perception of Truth.’
