TRAINS AND TRAMS
TRAFFIC NEARLY NORMAL FURTHER RUSH EXPECTED Trains are still fairly well packed by the travelling public, but the traffic is now nearly back to normal. A further rush, however, is anticipated both to-morrow and on Monday. The 8.35 a.m. express to Invercargill carried a complement of 200 passengers, and the 8.40 to Christchurch had aboard a similar number. The through express was again twentyfour minutes late in reaching Dunedin, and when it steamed out from Dunedin platform is carried 350 passengers. Central Otago traffic is keeping up well, 100 passengers leaving by the Central train this morning. Tram traffic is now almost back to normal, but observation trips continue to be well patronised, a full load journeying to Waipori yesterday. Yesterday afternoon various observation trips were taken by large numbers of people, but otherwise the traffic was normal. A big rush' is expected to-morrow and on Monday, as many people will probably be going out of town.
