DUNEDIN MEETING

MEA9OW LARK TRAVELS' FAST DUTCH MONEY WINS NICELY The Summer Meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club was brought to a conclusion yesterday. The overhead conditions were glorious, but during the day a strong westerly wind sprung up. " The track was electric, and some fast times were recorded, the records for iive and six furlongs being equalled by Dutch Money and Meadow Lark respectively. The field? were on the small side, and in the final event there were only four starters. . The attendance was below last year’s nuni'bers. On the second day twelve months ago it was close holiday in the city, but yesterday many of the business houses re-opened. There was a distinct shortage of money, £15,962 being passed through the machine, as against £22,320-1 on the corresponding day last year. The total turnover for the meeting was £37,810, as against £46,319| last year. The meeting was well managed, the only fault to be found with any section being the starting.
