——-—■»— SHUNTER CRUSHED. A verdict of accidental death, no blame being attachable to anybody, was returned in connection with the death of Shunter M'Callum at Thorndon on Christmas Eve. One of the wagons accidentally became derailed, and the deceased was caught* between it and the succeeding wagon and was crushed.—Press Association. WONDERFUL ESCAPE. . A motor accident occurred at Grcymouth at Dublin terrace, above Lyell, when a car with three occupants fell a distance of fully 200 ft over the edge when approaching another car. The occupants, Mr and Mrs Ohidley and Miss Davis, all of Christchurch, had a wonderful escape. They were: extricated from beneath the car, and were taken to Reefton Hospital suffering from shock and minor injuries.—Press Association. '■ FATAL FALL. A boy named Allan Evans, aged 12, belonging to Blaketown, died at Greymouth Hospital as a result of an accident two days ago. when he fell in a race at the children’s sports, breaking his nose, He was treated at the hospital, but when returning home was attacked with convulsions, and died on his return .to hospital,—-Kress Association,
