PREMIUM BONUS.

TO THE EDITOR* i Sir, —Concerning tlio meeting at Hillside Workshops your correspondent, “ J.L.” states that only a, few dozen men wore present to discuss the premium bonus. This statement and the inference that members of the N'.Z.T.A. took no part are contrary to fact. JSoth organisations the A.S.R.S. and .N.Z.T.A. —arc opposed to the premier bonus system, 'the remarks attributed to the president of the local N.Z.T.A. convey an erroneous impression. If “ J.L.” was at the meeing, why did ho not have the courage to speak or vote against the motion? All present were invited by tho chairman to express their views, and tho motion was carried unanimously. “ J.L.’s ” remarks regarding Government.stroke and tired individuals are no arguments. Tho premier bonus system is opposed by trade unions throughout tho world, and many largo firms have discarded it after experience. It means the scrapt ping of the older men and an increased number of accidents due to speeding up'.. , If “ J.L.” is not satisfied with the voting on this motion let him call a meeting in the yard after the holidays and explain his views.
